greetings.

this blog is mainly a "back up" to the foothillsTO twitter page. the point is not to get millions of followers (frankly i don't want the world finding out how nice our neighbourhood is and turning it into some gentrified trendy blecch), just people in the neighbourhood. a place for people who live in the davenport neighbourhood (between davenport and the railway tracks, from dufferin to christie), just below the big climb up to st clair - the foothills of toronto.

when i first moved here, i emailed councillor palacio's office to find out if there was a neighbourhood group or resident's association or something. the answer i got: "no." if i was north of davenport, or south of the tracks, or further east or west, then there would be something; but our little spot got nuthin. i later learned he was wrong, there is a neighbourhood group, which you should get in touch with if you want to get involved in stuff.

then when there was that night when i came home late to find cop cars and my very own street blocked off and i wasn't about to wake up the neighbours after midnight to get the news, but managed to find some info on twitter.

then there are neighbours who've said "what we need is a place that sells fresh produce" when we've got boa hora on the corner of westmoreland!
